Specific Objectives
Four pillars driving our mission
Every objective is designed to create lasting, sustainable impact for children with Down syndrome and autism across Uganda.
Land Acquisition
Secure 30 acres of land in a central, accessible location within Uganda to serve as the NELFAM of the Center.
Infrastructure Development
Construct a modern, accessible facility with therapy rooms, classrooms, medical units, and administrative offices.
Service Provision
Deliver comprehensive medical, therapeutic, and educational programmes tailored to children with Down syndrome and autism.
Capacity Building
Train teachers, caregivers, and community members in inclusive education and specialised care practices.
Advocacy & Awareness
Conduct nationwide campaigns to promote acceptance, inclusion, and understanding of developmental disabilities.
Project Phases
How we will build it
The project will be implemented in three structured phases, each building on the last.
Phase One
Land Acquisition
The project begins with purchasing 30 acres of land in a central, accessible location within Uganda. The site will be selected based on accessibility, safety, and proximity to essential services. The land will also accommodate future expansion including agricultural and vocational training areas to support long-term sustainability.
Phase Two
Construction & Infrastructure
Construction of a fully accessible, purpose-built Center with six specialised wings — medical and therapy, education, family support, administration, outdoor recreation, and agricultural/vocational training zones. Each wing is designed to international standards for inclusive facilities.
Phase Three
Equipment, Staffing & Launch
The Center will be furnished with specialised therapy equipment, educational materials, diagnostic tools, and assistive technologies. Qualified staff will be recruited and trained before a phased programme launch, starting with the highest-need services.
Facility Design
What the Center will include
The Center is designed to be a comprehensive hub — covering every aspect of care, education, and family support under one roof.
Therapy & Medical Wing
Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy rooms, plus medical consultation and assessment units for comprehensive clinical support.
Educational Wing
Inclusive classrooms designed for individualised learning, sensory rooms, and resource libraries to support diverse educational needs.
Family Support & Training Unit
Spaces for counselling, caregiver workshops, and family training sessions so every family has the knowledge and support they need.
Administrative Offices
Purpose-built offices for management, programme coordination, and the implementation of all Center activities and partnerships.
Outdoor Facilities
Inclusive playgrounds, therapeutic gardens, and recreational areas to promote physical development, socialisation, and wellbeing.
Agricultural & Vocational Zone
Hands-on agricultural and vocational training areas providing income-generating skills for families and older children — supporting long-term sustainability.
Help us make this a reality
This Center will transform the lives of thousands of children and families across Uganda. Your support — whether financial, professional, or through advocacy — brings us one step closer.
